David Bowie at AGO in Toronto

I just got back from a long weekend visit to Toronto to see David Bowie is at AGO (http://www.ago.net/david-bowie-is/). If you are anywhere near Toronto and you have an interest in music, art, or fashion, I highly recommend this exhibit.

The exhibit doesn't just focus on just the music. It is an exploration of his creative process and how he has used fashion, make up, theater, and film to manipulate his image and create not just music but an entire vision for his art. ALL of his iconic outfits are displayed and you can view the front and back - including Ziggy Stardust era unitards, Greta Garbo style Thin White Duke suits and (OMG!!!!) THE ALEXANDER MCQUEEN UNION JACK JACKET!!

I have to thank YLF, especially Suz for the great Toronto recommendations. We stayed at the Beverly, a tiny boutique hotel right in the middle of Queen Street West. It was a very fun neighborhood and we didn't have to venture very far for good food, sassy cocktails, and ample retail opportunities. Of course I had to take advantage of being right next door to zara to buy a parka (http://www.zara.com/us/en/woma.....30078.html). You'll just have to trust me that it looks better in real life than it does on the model. Holy tax rate though!! I didn't realize it was 13% in CA. We don't have any tax on clothes where I live.

The best part of the weekend was spending time with hubby. It was our first time away from the kids since they were born almost 8 years ago. We could have pretty much gone anywhere and had a good time together!

WIW and if you can't wear leather and leopard to Blondie...

.. where can you wear it?! We got to see two of my favorite bands of all time today - Blondie and X!! Wow, they both still sound amazing! I had lots of fun dressing up in my normal clothes that actually fit right in with the 80's theme.

R&B vest picked up at NYC YLF meetup
NAS Trouve leggings
Angie's Matisse Leopard booties
Target clutch
Lace fingerless gloves from the Halloween store
Vintage 80's golden oldie giant gold hoop earrings

Hope everyone is having a great night!!

A few NAS reviews, better late than never!

Hi all! Sorry long time no post! I miss you all and I try to check in as much as I can - which sadly isn't too much these days!

I did manage to grab a few things from NAS this year that I wanted to share with you.

Just for the sake of completeness, I am 5' tall and 125 lbs.
All photos shown with Halogen Faux leather front leggings. They were also part of NAS but they don't seem to be available any more. They were sized M-L-XL, and I was a little concerned about sizing. They are sold as "hosiery," I should have taken this as a sign. The M is just right on me, they are pretty tight fitting.

1) Only Mine Cashmere Sweater (http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/on.....er/3493611)
I sized up to a M because I wanted a looser fit. I like this one alot thought it's hard to try on cashmere in 100 degree weather. Also wearing my new MK sunnies (shop.nordstrom.com/s/michael-michael-kors-56mm-square-sunglasses/3433792). They were not part of the sale but they were a necessity!

2-4) Rubbish Fairisle sweater (shop.nordstrom.com/s/rubbish-fair-isle-long-sweater-juniors/3440109) also sized up to a M. It is pretty long and covers my rear end. I like it for casual MOTG wear, not sure if I would wear it to work though.

5-7) The Big Splurge! Eileen Fisher Nubble Sweater (http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/ei.....er/3497058) it is fab quality and pretty funky with the Hi/Lo hem. It's hard to capture it in all it's movement. I tried some back and side shots to give you an idea. I am still mulling this one over because it is pretty spendy for me, though I really love it! I will probably wear it with either wide legged pants or pencil skirts, not leggings. SIze is XS and it is very oversized!

Hope everyone is having a great summer and a great NAS!

High Heels

I'm sorry but I think we're through. We've had a good long run but I don't think we can see eachother any more. Even if you are sweet and soft and good and comfortable, I am just too tired after walking on stilts all day.

I've gone back to mini wedges in summer and almost flat riding boots in winter. How about you, are you still wearing heels?

The full Janelle Monae

I'm at my niece's bat mitzvah, wearing the full on Janelle Monae. I'm wearing head to toe Angie recommendations, from the juicy tux, j crew tux blouse (boys size though), to the bcbg animal bag. And hubby's bow tie :) Is it good or too masculine/too costumey? I am planning to wear this outfit to two more events this summer. Your help and honest feedback are truly appreciated so I can look my best at them!!

I didn't listen to YLF

I wanted this Tom Ford copy cat dress....

http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....bebe-dress

Thought I would wear it to my Russian restaurant parties.

I tried it on last night and I simply do not like it anymore. Ugh!

After two years on YLF, I am still making shopping mistakes! I am so mad at myself. I could have bought a dress that I would actually wear for the money I spent on this thing!!

WIW zap's max and mia dots and a Q

Thanks Zap for showing us your dotty sweater. Of course it had to be mine!! This is not a k/r. I am already at work enjoying it.

Question for you all! Should the top underneath be buttoned or unbuttoned?

Y: buttoned

N: unbuttoned

All comments and suggestions welcomed!!

Y/N is animal print still in?

I am in love with Kate Moss' animal print coat. Of course I'll probably look like a shaggy sofa throw in it, while she looks stunning but I still want to try it.

Is animal print still in?

Would you ever think about buying a man's sweater for yourself?

I am really digging this elbow patch wool sweater:
http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/ra.....sultback=0

Is it too masculine? Should I look for a more feminine version?

YAY/NAY: Would you ever think about buying a man's sweater for yourself?
