WIW another low accessory day

Another day with low accessories. Maybe this is a trend for me. Despite my last two outfits being pretty much panned, I'm starting to feel more comfortable with my clothes, my body and style choices. I was wearing a lot of accessories for a while - tons of huge scarves, statement necklaces, earrings and sometimes even all of these at once! I don't feel like I have to distract attention from my body or my outfits any more.

This outfit was inspired by Nordstrom's 9 to 5 less buttoned up campaign. None of the pieces came from there, but I am thinking about ordering the sweet little blazer that is now on sale and one of Angie's picks.

I FEEL very tall in this outfit because of the heels. Realistically, I am still shorter than average height, but they make me stand very tall, very straight and give my legs a great shape.

ATL blazer (I am so over it, searching for a replacement!)
ATL blouse
Target denim skirt
Sofft Pavia heels
Vintage Turquoise statement ring

Comments and suggestions always welcome! Have a great Memorial day weekend everyone!

WIW some closet orphans and golden oldies

This was a bit of an unconventional week for me. I trotted out some golden oldies and closet orphans and wore them all in ways that pushed me out of my comfort zone.

1) This top is from Cache, it is totally over the top with hot pink and gold chains floating down the front. I tried to rein it in with a black jacket and slacks, but I couldn't resist adding square gold clip on earrings to match the chains.

2) This dress is over 10 years old but I never tire of it. I always have to mess with the neckline because it's pretty low. I've tried fashion tape and safety pins, but this is the first time I popped a tank under it. I like it best by itself, but it was a little chilly so I added a cardi. Does it work? I hate the look of the tank top from the back, it totally ruins the dress, but no one saw it since I kept my cardigan on all day. Are the chunky wedges too frumpy?

3) Thrifted Chaiken dress, closeups of chunky gold jewelry and lela rose for payless laser cut booties. They're buckling because I'm bending over to take the picture. They actually lay very nicely on my foot. I've been trying to figure out how to wear these shoes. It was love at first sight but they've been a challenge to style. Does this work or is it too shortening? They were fine for most of the day although I was very cautious walking across the marble floor at the train station.

I'd love to hear your thoughts!
