The full Janelle Monae

I'm at my niece's bat mitzvah, wearing the full on Janelle Monae. I'm wearing head to toe Angie recommendations, from the juicy tux, j crew tux blouse (boys size though), to the bcbg animal bag. And hubby's bow tie :) Is it good or too masculine/too costumey? I am planning to wear this outfit to two more events this summer. Your help and honest feedback are truly appreciated so I can look my best at them!!

Well, I think you look terrific. I would take or leave the bow tie depending on the nature of the events. What are the future ones?

Looks great, I love the final take. Do you need the belt? I think it would look a bit more streamlined wirhout it. i still love it as is.

There's nothing like Angie head-to-toe recommendations and you rock it, Rita.  Have "fun" at all your events and I love your hubby's bow tie, too.

KILLER to the power of KILLER :)

Fantastic!  My only thought is to go for a more dressy/girly belt as the current one is quite masculine.  Just to add one more feminine element, along with the pumps and clutch.

(And I love the bow tie.)

PS You could also try a colorful bow tie for another event.  Red or blue.

You look amazing!  And the occasion is such that a strong statement will be seen as celebratory, not costumey, I think.

So fun, I'm glad you got to wear this!

How cute are you!  I wouldn't change a thing.

My hubby has a checkered bow tie and slim brooks brothers belt I may try next time. The outfit was a hit. I felt comfortable and sassy all day... Though I'd had enough of the stilettos by the end of the day.

OK, so, the only thing that caught my eye was the belt buckle - it seemed out of place.  It needs to be, like crystal or something.  Otherwise, I love it!!  You totally pull it off.

You look sassy and ready to have a great time, as it sounds you did! A fun polka dot bow tie could be great for one of you other events too :)

Janelle Monae is weeping right now because you have bested her at her own fashion game!! LOVE!!

P.S. I saw her perform at the Hollywood Bowl a couple of summers ago and she was just amazing! :)

    Puttin' on the Ritz! Love.

Would it be too '80s to do a necklace for the bow tie? I could see that also.
