WIW to prevent melting in 100 degree heat

My weather reality is pretty grim this week. We're going from a low of 93 to a high of 102. Here come all of my summer OTG dresses I bought just for this purpose.

1) Rodarte for Target dress. I feel like I need long hair and 3 hole dm's to make this dress work. As I have neither, I tried to toughen it up with my husband's belt looped around.

2) Thrifted Kors blouse and dark wash denim pencil skirt. The nice thing about this silk blouse is that it is so light, it barely touches my body when I'm wearing it.

3) Another Target dress - I usually like this dress with a cardi, but that just wasn't happening today. Hope the cap sleeves and short length aren't too offensive here.

I haven't melted yet. Only 2 months of this to go. Wish me luck surviving the heat wave!

You are more resilient than I! I could not do a pencil skirt in the crazy heat. Not unless I was going from a/c to a/c within 60 seconds. These look great if you can remain cool in them! I can't bear even flutter sleeves lately, sigh.

You look great in all of these! I can't believe how stylish you can look in that heat. No offense taken here, as I wear cap sleeves all the time.

You look so pulled together for the heat!

Your dilemma reminded me of this fantastic outfit on the sartorialist blog:

It's not even in the 70's here, so I'd freeze in an outfit like that. But, doesn't it look cool? I love the orange/red and beige sandals.

exceptionally well done! i'm especially impressed by the 'planning' part :) our summer is very mild this year, but we regularly get into mid 90's to mid 100's F around here in summer. little cotton pencil skirts are great because they are cool and also help you to feel 'put together'. they're a great separate to throw into a 'hot hot heat' type capsule - a very worthwhile capsule to create if you live in this type of climate (and they don't take up much room ;)

My wordier post disappeared - grr!

Love the Rodarte dress - it's a fun, easy look.

I'm still impressed you can do a blouse and pencil skirt in such heat!

Very cute Target dress and the sleeves are totally fine ;-)

You look stunning never mind the heat. When you add the heat it just goes up another dozen notches on the style post.

You look fab in your breezy outfits! I like the tough belt in #1... dms would not work in the heat, anyway!

You look terrific! The NY Times had a feature article about dresses in the summertime, in their Thursday Style section. I thought of all of you dress lovers when I read it :)!

@Jonesy, Thanks for sharing this article. I am definitely feeling the dress is having it's moment right now. I feel put together from head to toe when I pop one on.
