WIW dotty's debut

Here is the debut of my Angie recommended Marc Jacobs dotty bag. Since Marc Jacobs is showing dot on dot, I thought I would try it too. Maybe its too much cuteness? Worn with my Frenchi jacket, loft boots, and halogen seamed skirt.

Yes! I love this! Super adorable.

  • Mochi replied 12 years ago

I love Dotty. I think she should go on a date with Monty.

Seriously, a totally awesome and non-regrettable purchase. A wardrobe workhorse, though it will never seem like work when you're sporting it.

  • Transcona Shannon replied 12 years ago

Ooohhhhh...if Dotty and Monty had a baby, what would it be???

Seriously Rita, this looks great. Love the bag and love the outfit!

  • MsMary replied 12 years ago

Love the dot-on-dot action! You look fab!

    LOVE!!!!

It was meant to be! LOVE!

  • rute replied 12 years ago

LOVE!! That bag is fabulous! Love the way you paired it with a top with smaller dots!

  • ManidipaM replied 12 years ago

Great whimsical look! Do wear with attitude :-D

  • celia replied 12 years ago

I am pretty sure there must be a law somewhere about having too many killer bags :-)
That is a killer bag and not cutesy at all, more graphic and the contrast between the polka dots in the bag with the polka dots in the scarf is a pattern mix.
    Yay for super Rita.

  • Queen Mum replied 12 years ago

    very cute!

  • Mrs Moo replied 12 years ago

This looks really really brilliant! The dots are complimentary to each other, it's definitely not too much. Great choices with the skirt and jacket too.

The only thing my eye tells me to say is, does the strap lengthen any further? It just looks like it is sitting a little high for a cross body bag. I'd wear it lower - at hip level, or just as a shoulder bag. Still love it though :0)

  • Jem replied 12 years ago

That is a great bag! I would love to own that one!! I love it with your cute outfit, too!

  • modgrl replied 12 years ago

Hi all, it is a sweet bag, it's bigger than it seems. I have enough room to put in a book and my lunch, which is nice.

Mrs Moo, I'm not sure about lowering the strap. It was very comfortable this way. I could rest my hand on it as I walked and this felt pretty nice. I will try it but I'm afraid that if I lower it too much it will just emphasize my shortness. It will look like it is hanging too low, like handbag straps are always too low on me.

  • Angie replied 12 years ago

MJ is proud and so am I.

    KILLER combo.

You and this bag were destined to be together :)

  • DeniseP replied 12 years ago

Soooo glad to see this, modgirl, because I have the same bag, but a smaller crossbody.

I got this bag when Angie first posted about it, but have yet to wear it, since I'm a SAHG. But the dots are what drew me in, and I thought it would stay in style for a long time since to me, it's a retro look.

I do like how you paired the smaller dots blouse with it and would have never thought of that.

Have you tried another pattern, likes stripes, or print? Just wondering, because you know much more about styling than I do!

  • modgrl replied 12 years ago

So glad you approve Angie! I wish I could carry it all day. It makes me happy just to see this picture.

Denise, which shape did you get? I like them all, I am really tempted to get the matching wallet!

I am planning to wear it with ditsy florals, stripes and denim on denim. My only concern is that it's not a true white so I can't really wear it with b&w stripes.

  • Diana replied 12 years ago

She's beautiful! I love the combo of the dots on dots, plus the color scheme (blue, black, and white) is one of my current favorites.

  • Jjsloane replied 12 years ago

Fantastic maiden voyage for Dotty! Love the dose of double spots and the colors.

  • DeniseP replied 12 years ago

I have the small crossbody, white with black dots since I'm not a big bag person.

    (hope the link works)

I like the fact that it's a creamy white and not a bright one.

Guess you know they have black with white dots, too?
Drooled over that one in the store, and wished I could have both.

My word! just noticed on the website this bag is faux leather! Didn't even check that out when purchasing! Oh well, still love it!

Can't wait to see "dotty" in your posts again.

  • MsMary replied 12 years ago

    GET THE WALLET!!

  • modgrl replied 12 years ago

Wallet in the same dot print or black with white dots?

  • ManidipaM replied 12 years ago

Oooh, I think the opposite! Imagine three dotties in a row!

  • MsMary replied 12 years ago

I'm thinking it would be super fun to get the reverse colors -- black with white dots! Also black might hold up better (not show the dirt as much) if you use it every day.

  • rae replied 12 years ago

Perfect in every way! I love the blue skirt to set it all off, too. :D

  • DeniseP replied 12 years ago

Reverse dots for the wallet -- what a great look!

I need to stop reading this post before I spend more money, lol!

On another note, what is a ditsy floral?
This description made me chuckle, but then it may mean something other than what I thought!

  • Girl X replied 12 years ago

Love!!! And both wallets are gorgeous - what are you going to do?!

  • nicoleb replied 12 years ago

Love the polka dots! Super fun!

  • christieanne replied 12 years ago

    Love at first sight!!
Is the bag a bit cream as opposed to white? It still might work with black and white - and might be better than a perfect match.
    Love your pattern on pattern!!

  • rachylou replied 12 years ago

This is the way to do dot on dot!

  • Isabel replied 12 years ago

WHOAAAA ! Welcome Dotty ! You are a beauty.....and your owner looks pretty sensational too.

  • catgirl replied 12 years ago

    Totally awesome and SO you!

  • Inge replied 12 years ago

    Oooh! Dotty is stunning!

I also wouldn't yet rule out pairing her with B&W stripes, Rita. I actually quite like it when whites, off-whites or creams don't match exactly.

  • Lisa replied 12 years ago

And Dotty is stellar at her debut. Lovely!

  • replied 12 years ago

Dotty is here! Woo-hoo! She is a great addition to your look!

  • Nakidra replied 12 years ago

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!! I wore that skirt yesterday and it reminded me how much I love it! You are looking wonderful as usual, Rita! :)

  • Deborah replied 12 years ago

Love the dot on dot! What a gorgeous bag. I do think polka dots have a really timeless look about them. I think you and this bag will have a long and happy love together.

  • citygirldc replied 12 years ago

If you ever get sick of this back, I could take it off your hands. LOL!!! This bag was a good choice and I'm envious.

The dots are perfect together , the outfit is perfect together, and ooohh, you could always wear stripes and carry the polka dot bag too. There are so many combinations and colors.

  • Jaime replied 12 years ago

    Just love those dots!

  • Freckles replied 12 years ago

    Very chic!

  • fashionista replied 12 years ago
