WIW OTG and casual work days

IK's post is making me feel like my "uniform" might be getting old just as I'm finally starting to get the whole skinnies and boots thing. I realized that my WIW's look almost the same this week. I haven't posted other outfits that were repeats. I love to repeat a successful formula but I don't want to bore you all.

1) chewyspaghetti and I wore just about the same outfit yesterday with black skinnies and H&M vest. It's hard to see but I am also wearing Angie's NAS recommended pendant that mirrors the shapes in the blouse.

2) I'm reposting this picture of my purple skinnies day because I think it's easier to see the detail of the black ruffled sweater. Next week I'm trying this with the recommended gray stripes and gray booties.

3) OTG, I couldn't get a shot all by myself but this pretty accurately portrays my days with the kiddos. I wanted to dress up my MOTG uniform a bit for an event at the school. I was stalking this Loft jacket for a while -- how many gray jackets does one need?! -- I decided that it was perfect and I couldn't pass it by. I know some of you are over ruffles but I am not. I love them for their miraculous baby belly camouflaging powers. I was pretty happy with how this one turned out and the 3 year olds at the school seemed excited to see me. I hope you approve!

You're right, that is a perfect jacket! Your kiddos are just adorable. I love the blouse in pic 1. You're so good with color.

  • Aida replied 7 years ago

I see nothing "old" here Rita, these formulas work just fine to me :) Love the vest over the printed shirt in #1. GREAT purple jeans, I can definitely see those looking fab with gray. And I adore #3, that jacket is perfect for you! I bet it looks great with the taupe boots in a lighter outfit.

You can never have too many jackets : ) All great, fresh looking and stylish ensembles. You have a great sense of style. My fave is 3 because of the killer jacket and awesome boots and adorable kiddos!

  • Angie replied 7 years ago

    Your kids are so cute!

And I love your looks - current, hip, interesting and fun. #3 is my best!

  • sarah replied 7 years ago

Hey jacket triplet (with Makrame), these all look GREAT. I think you've added a freshness to each that sets them apart from the crowd. Sweet kids.

  • Sara L. replied 7 years ago

I like #1 the best. I love the vest and printed blouse. The purple jeans in #2 are great too.

  • modgrl replied 7 years ago

Do you think I could do 2 with otk boots or would that be off the wall?

  • Queen Mum replied 7 years ago

There is nothing "old" or "boring" about your outfits Rita. There is nothing wrong with finding a silhouette that works and sporting variations. I mean how many variations can we come up with when we have to wear some form of pant/skirt and top every day anyway. Don't feel bad at all about skinnies and boots. It's a current, modern look. Nothing wrong with it at all.

Furthermore, none of your outfits look like carbon copies in different colors. They are all unique and fab! Carry on my boot wearing friend!

  • Sara L. replied 7 years ago

Depending on the boot, I think OTK could look really good. I don't have a pair myself so I don't have any personal experience, but the idea is intriguing. If you do give the otk boots a try, please post a pic!

Most heartwarming photo of the day (#3)! Absolutely beautiful kids - and you look glowing with them!

OMG, I am convinced that coloured denim is now IT for spicing up modern classic pieces - your purple pair is to die for! Just gorgeous.

Outfit #3 is a winner all around - chic, polished, fun. I love ruffles too! I've got a ruffled white cotton skirt that I will never tire of, and a black/white ruffled tank for under blazers. Maybe it's something in the blood...? ;) They've got that feminine flair.

  • Angie replied 7 years ago

    Go for it.

  • Ana replied 7 years ago

I love your purple skinnies and outfit #3!

  • Deborah replied 7 years ago

Rita, this is one of my favorite sets of outfits. Love the colors and this looks totally fresh to me, #3 is fab!! You look amazing.

  • wannabe replied 7 years ago

I'm with you on ruffles. Maybe because I never wore frilly things growing up, but the last few years I haven't shied away from them. #3 is probably my favorite. The jar of Nutella in the backgrounds of #1 and #2 is the best accessory ever :)

  • Suz replied 7 years ago

Rita, you look wonderful. I LOVE look #3. (And your kids are so cute!!) I would adore a jacket just like that. We don't have the Loft here, sad to say... :(

#1 is reminding me how much I want a vest! The blouse is terrific on you.

And I like #2 just as much as when it was first posted.

So nice to see you in some casual looks!

  • nancylee replied 7 years ago

I love all these looks, and that jacket in #3 IS perfect.

  • Jonesy replied 7 years ago

These are all great! I love the bold blouse in 1 with the black--they balance each other out. I think the gray jacket was meant to be--it looks perfect on you!

  • modgrl replied 7 years ago

Thanks for all the kind words. Glad you ladies approve of yet another gray jacket!! I knew I could count on you to be enablers!!

I'm wearing my OTK boots to work today with dark wash skinnies, breaking my work in slowly in preparation for purple skinnies and OTK boots next week :)

I am in love with #3. The perfect jacket indeed! You look so hip. And again, I am now officially craving colored denim.

  • Nakidra replied 7 years ago

You look great and your kids are super cute!

  • citygirldc replied 7 years ago

    I like #3 the best.

  • Angie replied 7 years ago

Make sure you show us the jeans outfits with the OTK boots!

  • modgrl replied 7 years ago

Of course!! I would say it's fun but not my very *best* look. I am so short that the OTK boots hit me pretty high. But I'm enjoying wearing them anyway!

  • Makrame replied 7 years ago

I like all of these outfits, and your kids are so adorable! That Loft jacket is perfect on you, and I really like it with the ruffled top, jeans and boots.

The H and M vest looks great on you with this blouse and skinnies!

  • Heather replied 7 years ago

Rita, I am so proud of you! You have FULLY embraced color and you look INCREDIBLE!!!

  • CocoLion replied 7 years ago

You look great in this formula. Nothing wrong with having a formula; otherwise, it would take us too long to get dressed each morning. It would be a new art project each day, which bloggers might have the time for but not all of us.

Love the picture with your adorable kids.

  • modgrl replied 7 years ago

Thanks Heather! You and MaryK were my color inspirations to get me out of my all black rut when I first got here. I'm still wearing black every day but it is a component of my style, not the thing that defines my style any more.

  • Heather replied 7 years ago

Rita, I am incredibly flattered! Wow!

I love it! Black as a neutral not always a statement.

  • Ruby Tuesday replied 7 years ago

Modgrl you look sensational, please continue to do what you are doing!!!!
