WIW maximal minimalist

After yesterday's pattern fest I wanted something calmer. I thought I was going for minimalist here but now that I am looking at it I'm not sure if it is really minimalist. I felt pretty snazzy with the animal bag, column of black and leather jacket at work. Hope you like it!

Column of black with shades of brown leather and animal print? *fanning* Be still my heart. Rita you look like a tall, slim drink of water in this outfit, and every bit as refreshing, too!

Cute jacket and the fit is perfect on you. Looking good as always.

Thanks, I felt pretty tall today too! Gosh the bag looks huge. It is not so big in real life :)

"Hope we like it"???? Nope, can't say that I do. I LOVE it!!!!! This outfit looks so luxe and chic - black, cognac leather and animal print - a perfect recipe for a perfect outfit!

I agree, it's super chic! That bag looks amazing with everything!

Wow! "Snazzy" doesn't even begin to describe the fabness that is you in this outfit!!

Can you be "minimalist" while rocking leather AND animal print? Well, I'll leave that to more seasoned fashionistas. What you are is amazing in this. Strong and chic! Brown and black is terrific on you.

Fabness. So chic, looks so effortless, no hint of even trying... let alone too hard! You look envy-inciting, Rita!

    I love this.

    YLF.

(I have many more complimentary words but without the flailing hands, cock of the head and rolling eyes it all just sounds so wrong typed out).

Love this on you! The cognac jacket is just perfect for you and what a fun bag!

  • Nakidra replied 12 years ago

I'm in love with that bag!! I love it with that wonderful jacket.

  • Mochi replied 12 years ago

This look is super-chic and awesome. Brilliant column of black and that jacket provides such a stylish contrast (and is so well-fitted on you). And the piece de resistance (I'm sure I spelled that wrong)--the bag! You are a visual example of the power of a handbag to elevate an outfit to another level.

MG: it is fab minimalism. I think your eye is still getting used to the animal print bag. love it!

  • lyn67 replied 12 years ago

This is neutral, too :-)---love it!!!

    Modgirl,
This is so beautiful on you. Black and brown mixed together is so elegant (2 of my favorite combos). What a delicious jacket! That bag is gorgeous! You look long and lean in the column! The outfit is a neutral with "flair".

  • Jjsloane replied 12 years ago

This is why you were meant to have that bag! What's not to love here? I have always liked black and brown, but this really works to illustrate how nicely they can play.

  • Queen Mum replied 12 years ago

Love this look. I would definitely call it minimalist... just very classy minimalists.

  • Angie replied 12 years ago

Can you believe that black and brown combinations used to be a faux pas? It boggles my mind.

    YLF, Rita!

When are we going to see the MJ polka dot bag?

  • modgrl replied 12 years ago

I like cognac and black together, I am still not a fan of dark brown and black combinations.

    Dotty is coming out soon.

I am wearing my polka dot midi today. I thought it might be a bit much with a polka dot bag.

  • Angie replied 12 years ago

I hear you. Although you'd be catwalk ready wearing both dotty items together in one outfit.
