WIW another denim day at work

This is another take on yesterday's short over long formula. I see it's hard to tell but the sweater is cropped right to where my hand meets my waist. Is the shirt too short for jeggings? Mr. Work Plant says hello.

I don't htink the shirt is too short at all - love this outfit!
    Hello Mr. Plant!

Looks great to me! Love the boots with the shirt. Hi, Mr. Healthy Plant!

Now that I'm looking at the picture, the cognac boots seem to be the wrong tone for this shirt.... Maybe the tan miz mooz would work better with my lighter leopard blouse, or maybe I need black boots for this outfit to bookend the black sweater and my hair?

Totally works cropped over longer! Very cute. I quite like the boots with it but if you want to post another pic later???? Does one actually NEED to bookend? It's nice but not a requirement....rembember NO RULES!!!!!

I think this short-over-long formula looks great and I can tell Mr. Work Plant agrees. Is that an Equipment blouse? Either boot choice would do well, so you can change it up when you feel like it.

Vicki, It's the Ann Taylor blouse from last summer. I added it to an order as a filler for free shipping but it's really turned out to be one of my favorites.

Very cute. I think the miz mooz would work well with that top, it has alot of cream in it. I don't see a real problem with those boots though and I think IRL you would see the color tie in more with the shirt. (IMO pictures don't always do the look justice)

Bookended or not, the outfit as it is works great! Blouse not too short, crop sweater is just right length and boots are fantastically rich tone. Black shoe could be an option for later but this is fab look.

Love! Those look like regular jeans to me, so the shirt looks fine. I'm loving the short over long + waist surrender on you Rita! The leopard blouse is beautiful with your coloring, too! :)

  • rae replied 12 years ago

It looks great to me! The jeans don't look like jeggings from here - just like skinnies. Love the warm colors with the black!

You do cropped over long so well! I am bookmarking this outfit - I will try it as soon as I can get a cropped cardi/jacket :)

  • modgrl replied 12 years ago

I miss those Gap Jeggings from last year!! I wish they would start making them again.
So nice and tight, and yet still look like jeans.

What a great week, Rita!!! I need to hang out with you more! You must come here and sort me out :)
I think I see what your point is with the bookending. The outfit looks FANTASTIC as is. What might be throwing you off is the black cardigan. If you change the cardigan to any other color, which in fact you could as the jean, cognac boots and leopard print are all neutrals, you will no longer see your issue.
And yes, GAP totally went south with their jeggings...

  • CocoLion replied 12 years ago

This is a cute casual outfit Rita. Well done. I see nothing that needs tweaking and if the jeggings have back pockets, the shirt is fine. (And I assume the jeggings are made from stretch denim, not a pajama jean printed knit).

Derail for a second but I wonder if anyone here is a fan of or has tried those pajama jeans? A local discount store told me that it was the #1 most stolen item at Christmas.
    ;-o

You are so cute! I don't think of you as a browns and blacks girl, but you can definitely work them :)

  • modgrl replied 12 years ago

I just realized that I wear leopard every day -- either shoes, bag, scarf or top -- wow, maybe I need to cut back on this trend a bit

love this outfit, I think shirt length is great I and have become a huge fan.of black & brown. this is awesome together!!

  • Nakidra replied 12 years ago

Just chiming in Rita to say that you look awesome and I think leopard everyday is the BEST!! You're rocking it! :)

  • modgrl replied 12 years ago

Nakidra!! You rock, only a ylf'er would understand leopard everyday as a neutral ;)

  • krishnidoux replied 12 years ago

I love this outfit on you! Perfect proportions too.

I think the shirt length is great because the denim leggings are a substantial enough weight not to be too tight or exposing on the leg. Love the blouse and boots especially.
