WIW - 5/18/2012 Cole Haan Tali Wedges

This is how I envisioned wearing my red jeans, dressed down with soft neutral colors. I've had them for almost a year and this is the first time the weather and the occasion both cooperated. Before this I always wore them in a more graphic way with black and white, with prints or a little black jacket. This is the first time I am pairing them with soft neutrals. I've been off of jewelry for a while and really haven't worn earrings since I got my hair cut last summer but these big silver boho teardrops just felt right today. The shoes are last summer's version of the Cole Haan Tali Wedges in greige. They are super comfy and are my go to not too dressy and not too casual summer shoes.

Details: AT Loft jacket, Target flower print waffle tee and silver earrings, ON Rockstar jeggings, Cole Haan Air Tali Quilted Wedges, Garnet Hill tote

So does this boho interpretation of the red jeans work or should I stick with B/W graphic prints with them?

YAY: Red jeans work for both graphic mod and boho looks

NAY: Stick with the tried and true

I think it looks great! I also like to wear Air Tali wedges with bright colored jeans - they seems to add just a bit of a height and sophistication to tamper the boldness of the denim. I think that soft blues and the bright red go great together.

The outfit totally works! Of course you can wear your red jeans with this tee.

So coincidental that you're wearing the Talis today and I blogged about them this morning :). Check out the blog post, Rita.

I saw your post after I got dressed! I wear these shoes ALL the time, so it's not much of a coincidence. They are SUPER shoes!! I'm so glad I sprung for them last year.

Oh my....this is lovely Rita! The red trousers absolutely work with neutrals and I really like your earrings! The shoes are perfect with this - hmmmm....may have to consider a pair of wedges like these. Fabulous outfit Rita!

I think this look works so well, those wedges being so comfy is a bonus and the earrings are fab. Which reminds me I must start to wear earrings more myself! Gorgeous outfit.

I love this, Rita. I saw someone wearing red jeans very similarly the other day. At the time, I just thought it looked good but didn't think about why. I think the lower contrast look is a great way to change it up. I vote yay!

You had me at boho ear rings. I am now inspired to hunt down some red jeans - looking good.

Very nice! I actually prefer this look to the graphic one, but that's just me. They are both fab!

Just love the red jeans on you! Works both ways I think.

I vote yay, the red jeans are fun and quite versatile. These are lovely against softer colors.

Rita, I love this. Like you I tend to wear my red jeans with bold black and white but this is inspiring. You have given me a great idea for an alternative styling for mine.

The red is a lovely color on you and this outfit looks perfectly put together. Love.

What a sweet outfit (sweet as in nice, not cutesy!). I love your hair the way it is in this picture too. And that's a really cool jacket.

  • Jonesy replied 11 years ago

This works fabulously well and I love those earrings!

I love that jacket! It's nice to see you in earrings too. Those make a nice statement.

I love my red jeans, and have been amazed at how versatile these are. Now, I don't have leather to copy your look, but I love it, and it's very true to your personal style. This blend of colors will look wonderful in the fall, too!

A made-for-each-other match! Like your hair and those gorgeous earrings, beautiful!

I think this is a great look and I love the earrings!

Hi Cheryl and everybody who commented! I always love wearing these shoes. I look down at my feet all day and marvel at how cute and comfy they are. Angie's recommendations are spot on. There is a lesson here: There isn't a big selection of cute 5.5W shoes, unless you like orthopedic shoes. if you have hard to fit feet and your size suddenly becomes available, grab them! If you don't they will sell out!!

This think you look great! I love the red pants with the sandals.
